Alliance Holds Annual Gold Key Banquet

The Connecticut Sports' Writers Alliance hosted their 78th annual Gold Key banquet and awards ceremony Sunday at the Aqua Turf. Gold Key award were presented to Jere Quinn, the long-time boys basketball coach at St. Thomas More in Montville; Chris Palmer, a collegiate and pro football coach who won a Super Bowl ring as an assistant coach with the New York Giants in 2008 and Bill Rasmussen, who founded ESPN in 1979. Former NBA players Chris Smith, who was a collegiate star at UConn and played in the NBA, couldn’t attend nor could John Bagley, who was a collegiate star at Boston College.
