Connecticut Sports Media Alliance Four members of the Connecticut Sports Media Alliance were recognized with Excellence in Journalism awards by the Connecticut chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists in their recent competition. Vickie Fulkerson of the Day in New London, Jimmy Zanor of the Norwich Bulletin, Gerry deSimas, Jr., of the Collinsville Press and Rick Wilson from Litchfield County Sports were each recognized in the 2025 Excellence in Journalist contest.

The 83rd Gold Key dinner, presented by the Connecticut Sports Media Alliance (CSMA), will be held on Sunday, May 17, beginning at 2 p.m. at the Aqua Turf Club in the Plantsville section of Southington. Originally scheduled for last October, the annual dinner was postponed after the death of Alliance President Tim Jensen in September at the age of 59. Tickets sold for the original banquet date will be honored in May. Tickets are $80 and may be reserved by contacting Alliance

The Connecticut Sports Media Alliance’s 83rd Gold Key dinner has been postponed due to the recent passing of the organization’s president, Tim Jensen. The dinner was scheduled to be held at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025. A new date has not yet been determined.
