Six to be honored with John Wentworth Good Sports Award
A half-dozen individuals who have unselfishly devoted their time and energy to the promotion of athletics in their communities have been named recipients of the John Wentworth Good Sport Award by the Connecticut Sports Writers’ Alliance. Legendary Windsor Locks coach Dan Sullivan has passed away
Dan Sullivan, the legendary coach at Windsor Locks High School, who led Raider teams to seven state championships in boys soccer and baseball, passed away Monday at the age of 83. Sullivan, who graduated from Suffield High in 1953, won a national championship with the Springfield College men’s soccer team in 1957 before graduating and coaching for 39 years at Windsor Locks. President Bush, who was awarded a Gold Key in 1991, has died
In 1991, the Connecticut Sports Writers Alliance presented a Gold Key to President George H.W. Bush, who grew up in Connecticut and played baseball at Yale University after he served our nation in the armed services during World War II. Bush passed away earlier on Friday, November 30, at the age of 94.
