CSWA hosts Gold Key press conference
The Connecticut Sports Writers' Alliance hosted a pre-banquet press conference at CIAC headquarters in Cheshire with four of the five Gold Key recipients available for a press conference and interviews. It is believed to be the first time that a Gold Key banquet press conference has been held.
PGA Golf professional Dennis Coscina, New Canaan High football coach Lou Marinelli, former Granby Memorial field hockey coach Dot Johnson and 1998 U.S. Olympic women's hockey gold medalist Gretchen Ulion-Silverman were able to attend in person. Former UConn women's soccer coach Len Tsantiris called in from his home in Florida.
