CSWA member inducted in New England High School Wrestling Hall of Fame

Avon’s Gerry deSimas, Jr., a member of the Connecticut Sports Writers’ Alliance and long-time state sportswriter, was inducted into the New England High School Wrestling Hall of Fame on Saturday before the start of the finals at the annual New England wrestling championship tournament in Providence.

He has been covering wrestling and high school sports in the state for more than 30 years. In 2001, DeSimas founded Connecticut Wrestling Online and he has been covering wrestling for the Waterbury Republican American for the past 18 years.
