CSWA member Jim Bransfield passes away

We're so sad to share the news that sportswriter Jim Bransfield of the Middletown Press passed away on Saturday after a short illness. He was a longtime writer at the Middletown Press, a great friend to us at the Alliance, a well-respected teacher in Middletown and an outstanding supporter of the Middletown area.

“Jim was the consummate journalist,” Middletown Press Managing Editor Cassandra Day said in the story about his death. “For him, writing was like breathing, it came so easily. Jim had strong opinions — he didn’t mince words —but his deep love for Middletown always came through. He will leave a huge hole in the hearts of many, many people.”
