Bo Kolinsky inducted into Ukrainian Sports Hall of Fame


The late Bo Kolinsky, the former scholastic sports editor and sports writer at the Hartford Courant, was recently posthumously inducted into the Ukrainian Sports Hall of Fame in Whippany, N.J. Bo was inducted in the inaugural class in the Builder’s Category.

The Ukrainian Sports Museum and Hall of Fame honors individuals, teams, events, organizations and venues prominent in the history of Ukrainian athletics. The museum and Hall of Fame honors people, places, organizations and events that have made outstanding contributions through inspiring achievement in both professional and amateur sports, forever enriching the memories of fans.

Bo, who passed away at the age of 49 in 2003, began his sportswriting career with the Hartford Courant in 1973. In 1977, he was assigned responsibility for the Courant's statewide high school coverage. He was instrumental in beginning the All State/All Courant Athlete recognition program in 1983-84.

Bo's sincere interest in coaches and athletes, his incredible memory, and his warm sense of humor were among his greatest attributes. He was the paper’s assistant editor when he passed and had served as the paper’s high school editor for 30 years.
